Spring Gifts That Give Back: Thoughtful Finds from the Homeless Garden Project Store
Spring is a season of renewal—a time to reconnect, celebrate, and give. At the Homeless Garden Project Store, every item tells a story of transformation and possibility. Whether you’re searching for a meaningful birthday gift, a thoughtful Easter token, or something special for Mother’s Day, our handcrafted goods offer more than beauty—they support a powerful mission.
All proceeds from our store help fund job training, transitional employment, and support services for individuals experiencing homelessness in Santa Cruz County. Every purchase truly makes a difference.

Simple, Beautiful Gifts for the Season
Here are a few staff and customer favorites for spring:
Lavender Sachets
Filled with lavender grown and harvested on our organic farm, these sachets offer a calming, natural scent—perfect for drawers, suitcases, or tucked under a pillow. They make a lovely choice for spring birthdays, Easter baskets, or just as a simple gesture of care. Each sachet is made as part of our employment training program, helping participants build confidence and skills while earning a living wage.

Handmade Candles – Soy & Beeswax
Our soy candles are hand-poured in small batches, available in comforting scents like Lavender Vanilla, and seasonal favorites like Sweet Pea Blossom and Seaside Spring. For those who prefer a more traditional option, our hand-dipped beeswax candles offer a warm, natural glow without added fragrance. These candles make thoughtful gifts, especially for Mother’s Day, and reflect the craftsmanship and care of our trainees, who gain valuable skills in production and customer service.
Organic Strawberry Jam
Made with strawberries grown on our certified organic farm, our strawberry jam is a simple, delicious treat. Perfect for a breakfast table, tucked into an Easter basket, or paired with a fresh loaf of bread, it’s a gift that feels both classic and special.

More Than a Gift
Every item from the Homeless Garden Project Store supports more than just seasonal giving—it supports lives in transition. When you give a gift from our store, you’re also giving someone the tools and encouragement they need to rebuild their future. As one of our trainees shared:
“Having someone believe in me—and buy something I helped make—reminds me I have something to contribute.”
