Ways to Give
Our organization is firmly rooted in the belief that every individual has value as evidenced by the individuals we serve in our core transitional employment program. We also believe everyone can work towards a solution for homelessness and we offer numerous ways to contribute for the benefit of our neighbors in need, our community and our environment.
It is your incredible generosity that has afforded us the ability to grow since our founding in 1990 and help our trainees make profound transformations and obtain stable employment and housing. Your gift makes a meaningful impact on our ability to do this work. Thank you for your continued generosity.

Please let us know when you’ve made a gift of stock. Contact email@example.com with your information (name, address, phone number), the name and type of securities gifted (public, private, restricted, mutual fund, etc.), and the number of shares, so that we may follow up properly on your gift.
BequestsOne of the simplest ways to support the Project's future, a bequest provides a gift in your will or through your estate. There are no minimum dollar requirements or limits to the amount you can leave, and bequests are free from federal estate tax. IRA Charitable DonationsQualified Charitable Donations allows individuals who are 72 years old or older to donate up to $100,000 directly from an otherwise taxable IRA instead of taking required minimum distributions. This allows you to avoid paying any capital gains tax while supporting the work of HGP. It is quite straightforward and easy to do, we recommend contacting your IRA administrator to learn more.
HGP offers a variety of sponsorship and partnership options for businesses large and small. We’d love to talk with you about how supporting HGP not only strengthens the Santa Cruz community, but offers a list of customizable benefits for your business.
Recurring, Sustaining DonationsWe rely on donations made monthly, quarterly, or yearly to ensure that we have the resources to support trainees on their path to stable housing and employment. You can choose the frequency and amount for recurring donations when you donate online.
In-kind DonationsDonations of goods and services are valuable in helping us achieve our mission. We are grateful for in-kind donations that will support our farm, retail enterprise, office work and trainees’ quality of life. The specific items and services we need include:
- Truck repair
- Pro bono building repair and maintenance services
- Farm tools and supplies
- And more!
Please feel free to contact us at email@example.com to discuss any of the above options or explore additional ways of supporting HGP.
